Reitmans (Canada) Limited announces management appointment

MONTREAL, June 16, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Reitmans (Canada) Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Walter Lamothe to the position of President, Retail and Chief Operating Officer.  Mr. Lamothe joined Reitmans (Canada) Limited in 2011 as President of the Addition Elle and Penningtons banners and in that position has revitalized these market-leading plus-size brands and driven both same store sales growth and profitability gains.  In addition, he has led a key strategic initiative in developing a global sourcing approach, which will benefit all Reitmans banners.

In his new position, Mr. Lamothe will have operating responsibility for the Company's six banners:  Reitmans, Penningtons, Addition-Elle, RW & CO., Thyme Maternity and Smart Set.  His priority will be to improve performance in Canada, while also exploring opportunities for growth both domestic and international.

Prior to joining Reitmans (Canada) Limited, Mr. Lamothe was President and CEO of Liz Claiborne Canada (formerly Mexx Canada Inc.) and held senior executive positions with Shirmax Fashions.
