Reitmans (Canada) Limited Reports December Sales

MONTREAL, Jan. 4, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Sales in December for the five weeks ended December 31, 2011 decreased 0.1% while same store sales decreased 0.4%.

Sales for the fourth quarter to date, being the nine weeks ended December 31, 2011, decreased 0.9% while same store sales decreased 1.1%.

The number of stores remained unchanged from October 29, 2011.  Accordingly, at December 31, 2011, there were 975 stores in operation, consisting of 366 Reitmans, 158 Smart Set, 68 RW & CO., 77 Thyme Maternity, 25 Cassis, 158 Penningtons and 123 Addition Elle, as compared with 981 stores last year.
